2024.W39: Birthdays
September 23-29, 2024
Highlights
- Sunday - went to a birthday party and pondered on these thoughts
- Monday - celebrated my son’s 4th birthday. We bought a few treats for his class in the morning. In the PM, he opened some gifts and was ecstatic about his new controller and Mario games.
- Tuesday, Wednesday - attended some events at work and reflected on believing in signs
- Friday - started playing Mario Deluxe and 3D World
- Saturday - brought my son to a mountain resort for some sightseeing and relaxation
Reading
- Finished The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell and Kulang na Silya by Ricky Lee
- I started reading Kung Alam N’yo Lang, another book by Ricky Lee. However, I forgot to bring it on our trip to the mountains so I ended up reading an e-book, Looking For Alaska by John Green.

Album
In my pursuit of new discoveries, I stumbled upon this series from cjd.weblog.lol where he listens to a new album every day. I was inspired to do the same, but will do it with a weekly cadence.
So every week, I would choose an album (or two) randomly, from any era or artist, familiar or totally new to me. I’d judge it with a very sophisticated rating system - 👍🏻 or 👎🏻. And for this week’s entry:
Player by Player
- Date released: September 1, 1977
- No. of tracks: 10
- Favorite: This Time I’m In It For Love
- Verdict: 👍🏻
Movies
- Inside Out 2 (2024). I watched this with my son. The animations were great as usual, but I felt there was something lacking with the storytelling. The magic just wasn’t there unlike the first film. Still, we enjoyed it.
